Imagine this, life is good, times are steady and BAM! You find your dream house! Once you’ve taken a look and gone through all of the process, here you are. You have a closing date and it’s time to move. Where do you begin? How do you go about choosing someone to be responsible for moving the life you’ve created? These are questions, I know for me, would be running through my brain. Do you ask Karen down the street, your mom groups, do you choose online? Do you choose the cheapest price or the best value?  I’m here to help answers these questions for you and hopefully relieve a little bit of stress.

One of the first things you want to do is immediately turn to those things that are constantly attached to our hands (yes, I mean our phones) and refer to the inter-webs. Start with Google Reviews, YELP, Angie’s List, Home Advisor, or any of these amazing resources at your fingertips.Things I would be looking for from the initial phone call is; are they prompt, professional and personable? Is this someone you feel comfortable with and someone who can provide you information thoroughly and confidently. This is something we pride ourselves on here at This Side Up Moving. We handle all kinds of different relocation situations on a daily basis. We make it our goal to provide packing, moving and storage solutions unlike anything you’ve ever seen.

You also want to make sure they are gathering and conveying the most information possible. Are they asking you what furniture pieces you’re moving or just the size of your home? Do they offer free in-home estimates?  Data driven companies are going to want to know all the details to make sure your move day goes as smooth as possible and they are transparent with all pricing and inclusions. Anyone can tell you a price over the phone without getting information, show up (maybe) on move day and by the end not deliver the resources you needed from the get go. Leaving you feeling under-prepared and underwhelmed. Like I said, you want someone who makes you believe they are the professional. After all, that’s what we’re here to do.

How will my furniture be handled? With This Side Up Moving, we provide you with professionally trained movers and fully equipped 26 foot box trucks. We want to make sure you have the help you need. We will disassemble and reassemble your furniture and then use premium moving pads and stretch wrap to help minimize the chance of damage upon packing and delivery. Have large items? Have specialty items? We have the equipment necessary or we will do our best to find it!

At the end of the day, our goal is to help you move your life and have an amazing experience while doing so. We will do our best to provide you with an accurate and proven service. If you or anyone you know is looking to move, give us a call. Not quite convinced? Keep up with this blog and I’d love to change your mind. You’ll be glad you did!
